McGrath Continues Grassroots Tour, Hearing Directly from Voters in Clay and Pulaski

Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Discusses Policy Solutions and the Future of Kentucky

PARIS, KY. – Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Amy McGrath attended two energizing grassroots gatherings in Clay and Pulaski counties on Monday.  Both meetings were with local Democrats, community leaders, and residents to discuss the issues families and small businesses face across rural Kentucky.

McGrath kicked off her afternoon with a meet-and-greet in Manchester at Hoskins Creative Solutions, where she heard directly from Clay County residents about health care access, economic challenges, and the future of rural infrastructure. Attendees emphasized the importance of leadership that listens first and acts second, a hallmark McGrath highlighted in her remarks.

She then traveled to Somerset for an evening Democratic meeting in Pulaski County, engaging with voters on topics ranging from protecting Medicare and Social Security to expanding broadband access in rural communities. Attendees spoke about rising living costs and the need for federal support that truly reaches Eastern Kentucky’s heartland.

“What struck me about Amy is that she truly understands how frustrated people are, and she shares our urgency. She’s not focused on red or blue politics; she’s focused on common sense and action. Compared to other candidates, she stands out as someone ready to fight for Kentucky and deliver real change,” said Kendra Wilson, a member of the Pulaski Women’s Democratic Club.

Locals at both stops praised the opportunity to connect with a candidate who brings real-world experience to the conversation. That experience includes McGrath’s experience navigating the healthcare system with her parents, serving in the military, and being a parent with three children in the public school system.

“Today was about listening first; hearing Kentuckians share what’s on their hearts and what keeps them up at night,” McGrath said. “Whether it’s working families struggling to make ends meet or small business owners trying to thrive in our rural towns, I’m here to bring their voices to Washington.”

Throughout the campaign, McGrath has emphasized her commitment to investing in rural healthcare, economic opportunity, and protecting our democracy.

Organizers noted strong turnout at both events and high voter engagement, with many attendees expressing enthusiasm for the campaign’s focus on community-driven solutions.

McGrath is a Democratic candidate for Kentucky’s open U.S. Senate seat. The primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Voters can find information on polling locations, hours, and registration status through the Kentucky Voter Information Center.
